About Annet Ikiriza: Pastor (Rwanda)

Annet was born and raised in Uganda as a member of the Rwandan diaspora. She was not walking with God as a teenager but an evangelization event at her school started her on the journey towards repentance. Curiosity about Jesus gradually turned into a lifelong commitment as the Holy Spirit worked within her.

Following the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994, Annet returned to her mother country to serve as a freelance translator. During this time, she assisted groups from around the world as they met with government officials, local leaders, church leaders, and other development partners. Her work as a translator led to a position as a social worker with Care Australia where she helped re-unite children with their family members.

Following the conclusion of the emergency relief work in Rwanda, Annet joined World Vision to lead a project called Promotion of Reconciliation Among Youth. The genocide ideology still existed throughout the country and Annet worked with a team of five to help promote forgiveness and reconciliation. After six years with World Vision, Annet decided to further her education.

Annet completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Adult and Community Education in Kampala, Uganda and then returned to Rwanda to serve as a Child Protection Coordinator with Save the Children Rwanda. Throughout her entire life, Annet had been heavily involved with her church and during her time with Save the Children God called her into pastoral ministry. After three more years of schooling Annet was ordained and she accepted a position as the Head of the Youth and Children Department at the Anglican Church (Kigali Diocese). Alongside her pastoral responsibilities, Annet served as the Head Teacher at a local school for four years.

In October 2019, Annet became full-time pastor at St. Etienne Cathedral. She is involved in multiple facets of the church and is particularly skilled in promoting healing and reconciliation. Annet’s vision is to help people discover themselves so that they can grow closer to God and be transformed in every area of their lives.

Annet is excited to participate in ALI because she wants to continue to grow as a godly leader and help everyone she serves experience the abundant life that comes with serving Jesus.
