About Celestin Ntahobari: Youth Ministry Worker and Mechanical Engineer (Rwanda)

Celestin's life radically changed in 2003 when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Driven by a heart for the youth of Rwanda who didn't know Jesus, Celestin became heavily involved in his church's youth ministry and he formed a discipleship group in his university.

While actively serving in ministry, Celestin graduated university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and began working as the Head of the Motor Vehicle Mechanics department at a technical school in Rwanda. He studied engineering because there are many engineering jobs in Rwanda and he needed to help provide for his family after losing his father.

Despite being successful in this position, God called Celestin to pursue ministry full-time and he accepted a role as a youth worker with the Anglican Church. Today, he serves as the Head of the Youth and Children Department at the Kigali Diocese

The Kigali Diocese has 47 parishes and 197 church communities throughout the seven districts. Approximately 18,750 young people (ages 18-30) attend these congregations. Celestin's vision is to promote holistic transformation in the lives of Rwanda's youth. He works to empower congregations throughout Kigali to effectively preach the Gospel to young people and help them mature as Christians. His immediate goal is to ensure each congregation has a sustainable youth program. He believes ALI will equip him with the skills and mindset necessary to reach his goals and make his dream a reality.

Thanks to donations made by generous members of the Kurumbuka community, Celestin has no remaining scholarship needs! Any additional funds given through this page will be allocated towards future ALI scholarships.
