About Aimable Nsabayesu: Senior Pastor (Rwanda)

Aimable Nsabayesu grew up in a Christian home in Rwanda's Western Province. He accepted Jesus when he was 11 years old during a great revival in his village. While he was praying he heard God say, "You are a young boy, but you will serve me." Since that time Aimable has felt God calling him towards ministry. As a young adult he pursued his own interests, working first as a teacher and then as a businessman, but by 1996 it became abundantly clear that God was leading Aimable towards full-time church ministry.

Aimable started to volunteer in his church's children and music departments. His motivation to serve grew as he witnessed lives being transformed in his community. As a talented musician Aimable saw how music was a powerful tool for healing and reconciliation in post-genocide Rwanda. Aimable completed an American program in church music from 2000 to 2005 and he began to serve as the Director of Kigali Music School. Over the next seven years, he equipped dozens of successful gospel singers.

In 2009 Aimable began studying theology while working full-time. This was a challenging season for Aimable and his family as he also cared for his mother who was hospitalized in Kenya, but God was present through it all and he kept moving forward. In 2014, Aimable was ordained and he began a journey of planting churches throughout the country. His responsibilities within the Pentecostal church increased until he was promoted to his current role as Regional Senior Pastor in February of this year.

Today, Aimable oversees 503 churches in the Western Province with over 80,000 members. His vision is to raise up a biblically equipped church with strong, integral leadership that remains focused on the ultimate mission: serving Christ. One of the main challenges he has identified is the lack of leadership training available to pastors and other church leaders. He recognizes that he needs to improve his own leadership skills before he can equip others so he applied to ALI with that goal in mind. He is also excited to connect with skilled and experienced leaders from around the world.

Thank you for generously investing in Aimable's leadership journey!
