About Anthony Mutinye: Deputy Head Teacher (Uganda)
Anthony Mutinye grew up regularly going to church alongside his 49 siblings and half-siblings in Eastern Uganda. As a young person, his goal was to be a priest. However, financial constraints led him to enrol in a teacher's training college.
While completing his education, Anthony was not excited about working as a teacher. He did not think teachers were respected in society but as he began to engage with children he saw the impact teachers are capable of having on the next generation. By the time Anthony was hired by Victorious Education Services in 2009, he had come to fully realize that this was God's calling for his life.
Anthony initially worked as a Primary 4 teacher at one of Victorious' Kampala campuses. His commitment to helping his students succeed resulted in a series of promotions and in 2013, he was chosen to move from Kampala to Victorious' new campus in Mukono. Today, Anthony serves as the Deputy Head Teacher of Victorious Education Services' Mukono campus.
Victorious Education Services' is one of the top Christian institutions in Uganda. After starting as a Kindergarten class in 1999, Victorious now has over 350 employees teaching over 4000 pupils at five different campuses. Anthony remains deeply enthusiastic about serving with a God-fearing institution that places learners at the center of everything it does. Anthony says Victorious "instils godly principles that enable children to serve God and live a righteous life."
Victorious' mission closely aligns with Anthony's personal vision for transformation: to equip children from all walks of life with the values, skills, and experiences necessary to serve God and serve others. Outside of work, Anthony serves in his church's youth fellowship group. Anthony and his wife have also fundraised for church construction projects.
Anthony heard about the Abundant Leadership Institute from colleagues who have completed the program and noticeably improved as Christ-centered leaders. He has eagerly awaited the opportunity to attend ALI and says, "I strongly believe that this training will make me have a mind shift as an individual.” Specifically, Anthony is excited to learn practical strategies and techniques that will help him lead his time like Jesus.
