About Oled Ndayisenga: Associate Pastor (Burundi)

Oled has a passion for learning and growing in personal leadership and the discipleship of others. Raised in Bujumbura, Burundi, Oled grew up in a family with little value for practicing faith. Despite this, his older sisters would go to church and at the age of eight, he began following his sisters and started to develop a relationship with Christ. The church became his family, and following a time in his teens when he became seriously ill, he surrendered his life to Jesus. Upon graduation from high school, Oled knew he was called to ministry.

Through a connection with a friend, he started volunteering at Youth for Christ (YFC). His time at YFC was one of spiritual equipping, shaping, and growth as he was in a community with a dynamic and passionate team of young people with big dreams for serving God. Oled believes that when God calls us, He equips us. In 2010, Oled along with some friends from YFC were given scholarships to be a part of a two-year program through Worldshapers Academy to study theology in the United Kingdom. This experience of ministry and theological training was a turning point in his life and one of many stepping stones that led Oled into a life of ministry. Upon completing the program Oled knew that God had a plan for him and that he needed to go back to Burundi because there was work to be done. Oled got connected to Christian Life Ministry (CLM), a church plant that launched in 2013, and became a minister there.

Oled currently works as an Associate Pastor and Legal Representative for CLM, serving along with his wife Alice and two young children. CLM has planted two other churches, and Oled is passionate about its vision to change lives through active relationships with Jesus. They are committed to transformation, building relationships within their community, evangelizing, training, and empowering believers to reach out to their homeland with the love of Christ. The vision of impacting the nation by planting and growing healthy churches is what drives Oled’s work at CLM and he plans to continue following this call until Jesus comes back.

Oled believes that the gospel is the solution to all the problems the world has. He wants to model his vision after the vision of Jesus in Luke 18: by the strength of the Holy Spirit, to proclaim good news to the poor, open the eyes of the blind, and proclaim freedom to captives. Oled is seeking to do and teach what Jesus has taught. He seeks to be a strong leader in his community and has initiated several projects including prison ministry, back to school programs, and relief programs. Oled says: I want to be a part of bringing solutions to the problems people are facing in Burundi, the region, and beyond.

Oled wants to learn from Jesus and believes that through the Abundant Leadership Institute he will be able to become more effective in what God has called him to do. He knows ALI will help him improve as a servant leader and as a young minister he is excited to learn and connect with other leaders. He recognizes that “as a leader, I know my capacity to grow determines my capacity to lead.”
