About Stevens Tumushabe: Social Enterprise Employee (Uganda)

Stevens Tumushabe is a young man with a relentless passion for serving the most vulnerable members of his community. Since dedicating his life to Christ in 2009, Stevens has been committed to working as hard as possible to make life better for the people around him. This began at home where Stevens supported his single mom and two sisters.

After graduating from high school in 2014, Stevens participated in Watoto360, a discipleship and leadership training program at Watoto Church. He later completed a diploma in Business AdministrationAs a growing young leader, Stevens co-founded Render Outreaches: an NGO which exists to serve thousands of vulnerable individuals, children, and families across greater Kampala. Render specializes in meeting tangible needs through food security initiatives, clothing distribution, and menstrual hygiene resource kit creation. Render Outreaches also provides a network of support through a variety of programs and community events like an upcoming Christmas dinner. Render is seeing lives transformed and people living godly lifestyles as a consequence of generosity. The team at Render is committed to developing meaningful relationships and their ultimate goal is to reach lost souls and promote reconciliation with Jesus.

Stevens says, "I love 'street children' but they are not 'street children,' they are God's children." He hopes that by serving the community, everyone living in slums will see themselves how God sees them. In addition to his voluntary work with Render, Stevens also works for Watoto Ministries as a Store Keeper at their Central Campus. He has has been actively engaged at Watoto for over 12 years, serving every Sunday and playing a lead role in church drama productions. As the Store Keeper, he utilizes his administrative skills to help sustain and expand the ministry.

In everything he does, Stevens' vision is to work hard so he can build up influence and resources that will increase his capacity to serve others. He wants to see transformation in his community and he strives to be salt and light for Jesus.

Stevens persistently pursues opportunities for personal development, and he is excited to increase his skills by participating in ALI. He is also looking forward to learning from leaders from different nations and attaining knowledge that will help improve the direction of Render. At the end of the course, Stevens says he hopes he will be an entirely transformed ALI alumnus.
