About Rosy Kyakimwe: School Advisor (DR Congo)

Rosy Kyakimwe was raised in a Christian family in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since she was a child, Rosy has attended a church that is part of the CBCA (Baptist Churches of Central Africa) denomination. She developed an interest in education and began her career as a teacher at a CBCA school in 2002.

After serving as a teacher at a primary school and as an English teacher at a secondary school, Rosy was promoted to a school leadership position. She worked as an Assistant Manager and soon became the Principal. In this position, Rosy learned how to handle conflict, increase school retention, and promote a creative and innovative working and learning climate. Meanwhile, Rosy diligently pursued further education and completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Quality from the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg where she served as the international students representative. Rosy has also continued to be heavily involved in her church by serving in the hospitality, women, and evangelization ministries.

Her success as a principal and educational experience led to the opportunity for Rosy to join the CBCA head office in 2019 as a school adviser and teacher trainer. Earlier this year, Rosy also became an Assistant Director of the Didactic Training Centre at the Université Libre des Pays de grand Lacs. These new positions align with her overall vision of creating a training center for new leaders where they can be trained to plan their own visions for sustainable development.

Rosy applied to ALI because it will equip her train other leaders, communicate her vision, and connect her with a network of like-minded influencers. She has also heard that ALI is extremely practical and wants to improve as a mentor and strategic planner.

By supporting Rosy, you will help her dream come true, so she can reach countless more leaders in her community and country.

Thanks to donations made by generous members of the Kurumbuka community, Rosy has no remaining scholarship needs! Any additional funds given through this page will be allocated towards future ALI scholarships.
