Samuel, in addition to the work you are doing in communities, we are inspired by the personal support you are providing for specific children whose school fees you are covering. We appreciate the servant leadership example that you are for others. Blessings as you continue to care for others.

About Samuel Kwizera: NGO Founder and Nursing Student (Burundi)

After graduating from high school, it was impossible for Samuel to attend university because of the economic background of his family. Due to the civil war and political crises in Burundi, Samuel’s family had to endure the hardship of poverty. One-year post graduation, Samuel expressed his worries to a friend who ensured him that nothing is impossible with Jesus. At that time, Samuel was not a Christian, but he came to faith and Samuel figured out how he could partner with his father to make money for school fees. As Samuel grew closer to Jesus, his self-confidence increased, and he realized that he is called to promote spiritual development in his community.

Samuel began to follow the calling God placed on his life while pursuing a degree in Nursing. However, he was not seeing the impact he was hoping for while working alone, so in 2018 he started Bold Generation: an NGO which exists to help impoverished communities help themselves.

Bold Generation seeks to unlock the potential of community members by offering gardening programs, school sponsorship, and micro-finance programs. Through these tangible initiatives and by sharing the Gospel, Samuel hopes that people will find and realize their own visions for change. Samuel believes so deeply in the potential of the communities where Bold Generation works that he personally sponsors 7 kids to continue their studies.

Today, 30 highly-motivated Bold Generation team members walk alongside 400 community members in Burundi. Moving forward, Samuel hopes to expand Bold Generation’s micro-finance program and place a greater emphasis on leadership development.

Samuel is excited to be a part of ALI’s fifth cohort because he believes it will equip him with the skills and connections he needs to raise up godly leaders and foster sustainable development through spiritual development.
