About Wilson George: Vice Principal (Rwanda)
He is from India specifically Kerala state and he was brought up in a Christian family. He finished his degree in science then he got an opportunity to join a post graduate diploma in computer applications. Wilson realized his passion for teaching while serving as a Sunday school teacher after he finished university. This is where he realized that it is something that he wants to pursue. In 2001, he received an opportunity to go to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania as an IT teacher. He served there for 15 years as the head of an ICT department. Coming to Africa was a big step for him but it turned out to be a blessing. He got married and now has two boys. Even in this he did not feel completely fulfilled and felt as though God was calling him to work for a Christian institution. He left the IT department he was in not knowing what he would do and God opened a door for him at Wellspring in 2017.
Wellspring Academy is a Christ-centered school that wants to create a new generation of servant leaders in Rwanda. It is an international school so it brings together people from different countries. Wilson wants to display the best of the country to the rest of the world as it has had a rough past. Education serves to do this because it starts at the root by forming leaders for the future. He initially joined the school as the Cambridge coordinator and he is now the deputy principal for the secondary school. His wife is the deputy principal of the primary school. God has used him and his wife in the African community for the past 22 years. They came without any support and now He has enabled them to be able to support others. His main hope is that the students he has led are serving in their different capacities in whichever communities they are in.
Wilson is interested in ALI because he has heard testimonies of how it has been beneficial to others and has motivated them to reach their goals and serve their community. They have been helped to know themselves and how to motivate and help the people in their community. He gets joy from serving people at different levels and sharing the love of God through the resources that he has. Through the skills he acquires at ALI he will be able to better serve those he leads at Wellspring.
