Regis is the last born of four children and he says this led him to have a heart for others as he was always cared for. He is now married and has two kids. With education, he did his bachelors degree in Uganda Martyrs University and has a masters in finance and banking from Institut des Techniques Bancaires based in Paris. God has used and is still using Regis in many ways. At his church, he is a deacon and the chairman of the finance subcommittee. He is also the board chair of Youth for Christ Burundi where they have schools, orphanages and even programs for young people during vacations. They do evangelization in different regions in Burundi. Additionally, he is the board chair of an NGO for youth called New Generation and he has been there for the past 20 years. They help street kids to get out of the streets and join their families. Regis has inserted himself in whatever places he can to impact change. 

God has also used Regis in his professional career. His passion for people is why he loves banking because it allows him to be at people’s disposal and involves a lot of customer service. He is a very social person and feels fulfilled when he is helping others. He started his career in banking but continued on to lead an insurance company as the CEO. He then worked as a consultant for African Development Bank and is now the head of retail banking at Kenya Commercial Bank. Regis acknowledges that leadership can go left or right depending on the investment you put in it. It is important to be mindful of how resources are being used and whether the good news is being spread through them. He has made his own investments into different leadership spheres and still sees that he can learn more.

From working in many secular organizations, he has received all kinds of beneficial training but he sees that there needs to be a balance. He sees that you can be a good Christian and also a crude financial person. A Christian can know the word of God but they also need to use their intellect and education. Knowledge of the Word and practical skills go together. ALI will provide this type of education to empower him in his leadership. Regis mentions that “faith without action does not mean anything”. He wants to act on what God wants him to do and also learn about other people’s stories as that will encourage him in his own journey. Having a network is something that Regis desires. ALI will provide him with a community of people who are making change selflessly .
