Venuste was born and raised in Rwanda. He is married and has two children. He was influenced into interpreting through his love for language. This started in secondary school as he was taught by missionaries from the United States. Although most of the students were French speaking, they began training themselves to speak English and that is where his desire for becoming an interpreter began. Venuste also developed a love for people especially children here so he knew he wanted to do something related in the future. He was able to pursue this path after university where he learned more English so that he could have it as a second foreign language. 

Venuste worked with Christian NGOs such as the Bible Society and African Enterprise. He is also active in his church as an interpreter because of his knowledge of English and French. The church where he serves has more than 300 people and more than 85% of them are youth. They come to him for advice and he wants to be equipped to be able to help them. He believes that the courses at ALI will teach him how to help the youth better. He sees that in order to serve people efficiently he needs to receive more training. His success from ALI will help him serve as an example to not just those he wants to serve but also his children.
